Title: Change is in the air!
Hello Sweets,
I know it has been a long time and there really isn't any excuse. Things have not been going good for my shop. I thought about giving up; but then I decided change is what we need. I must follow my true passion which is not antiques at all but flowers.
Right now, I'm working on getting the new layout up and all the new site pages. I've decided to scrap everything but the domain name itself, shopcamelliacottage.com Everything else will be totally different.
I'm still working on my product line. However the site comes first, then that will give me time to get plan of what I'll soon be selling.
This is so exciting! I'm thrilled, and can't wait to till time to unveil our new products!

Title: Timeless Textiles

There are some fabrics that never go out of fashion. As the years pass, they grow more beautiful by adding the threads of history to their own. The original colors might fade, but these timeless textiles stay bright with the memory of the hands that created and cared for them. The stories they know are never truly forgotten when we make room for them in our lives and in our homes.
A beautiful damask tablecloth used by your grandmother might grace your own dinner table, completing it with memories of the past and those you love. Linen napkins, slightly worn with use over the years, are now a tradition at every family gathering. Somehow, the table never looks complete until one is placed by each setting. Embroidered hankies handed down from your mother add elegance and sentiment to your bedside stand.
These timeless textiles - hand stitched or hand created - can be worked into almost any décor. Monogrammed pillow cases edged with a bit of tatting - perhaps bearing your own initials or a great-grandmother's - grace your beds. A vintage quilt is draped across the back of your sofa. Title: Vintage Planters and Vases
Camellia Cottage now has a collection of vintage planters and vases. I am so excited, as I love each one of our new items. These are perfect for sitting around the house, placing a houseplant inside, or allowing Camellia cottage to create a custom floral inside.
Most of our customers don't know that Camellia Cottage specializes in florals. As each floral creation is made to order, email me for details.
We are planning in participating in Make Mine Pink's October shop hop. I also have a few other treats in store for Pink October! I'll write more on that later. As soon as I get all my ducks in a row, I'll send out our fall newsletter.

Title: A new beginning
Hello Sweets,
Please forgive my lack of interest in the business, this past month. Not only have I neglected it; but facebook, twitter, and my email as well.
I know excuses aren't good; but I've rearranged my furniture and repainted the basement (where my room and studio are located). Maybe I'll post some photos of the project soon.
Back to the boutique, as a gardener, I've already planted 75 daffodil bulbs. Autumn is my busiest time, what with the bulb planting and autumn clean up. Or as I like to call it "putting the garden to bed." This means I'm not planning much, if any, of an autumn display on my online site. However, I will decorate our booth at the Emporium, in it's autumn splendor.

Christmas is coming...As of now my plans are to have some new Christmas merchandise up before to many more months. How exciting!

Title: Larger Pictures
Slowly but surely Camellia Cottage's photos are changing again. Before I decided to get rid of the white sheet; this time I am re-taking our photos to make them larger. Silly me, I cut all my other photos to a smaller size and then deleted the originals. The general opinion seems to be in favor of larger more detailed pics. I've finished the "teacup cuties" tonight, and seeing how it's almost midnight, I'll start in on some more categories tomorrow.

Well, today I made some icons for the site. These are free for use on all message boards, blogs, and sites. If you have anything in particular you'd like me to make, like a movie or flower just let me know. If the response is favorable than I'll make more! :)
I started something new called Plant Profiles. This is where I will highlight a favorite cottage garden plant of mine, with photos and growing instructions. Hopefully this will inspire you stop by your local greenhouse and give it a try.
There is a new article called "Fresh Ideas for Grandma's Linens" I've photographed some new uses for these vintage treasures, and hope it will tickle your creativity.
I'm also thinking about making some free desktop wallpaper, that's Pretty in Pink. Please drop me a comment and let me know what size your desktop is...800x600 or 1025x768? Also is there anything in particular you'd like...some pink vintage treasure or a favorite movie?

Title: Linens. Linens, Linens,
I am so excited! All of our linens have now been added to the website. Yay! A friend of mine suggested instead of listing each one individually, it would be faster to sell them as a set. Well, hello, why hadn't I thought of that? There I was photographing one at the time...it would have taken a loooong while. We have a rose set, a set of hankies, another of doilies, and much, so much more!
I saved two sets, one for our Make Mine Pink Boutique, and the other for our Lollishop. Plus there is still a stack on the ironing board to be tagged and taken to the Emporium.
You know I really do admire our ancestors to have the patience to sit there and do all that work. I am having a hard enough time with my own cross stitch. I can not imagine creating such beautiful needle work.
I do hope you enjoy our new linens, and have a wonderful Pink Friday!

Title: The teacup cuties are here!
Yes, you heard right. Our newest line of florals, are made with antique teacups. These miniatures are so cute, hence their name "the teacup cuties".
These usual florals, make wonderful Mother's Day gifts or use them at tea parties. They are perfect for a hostess gift or order in bulk and use them as party favors.
They come in tiny demitasse cups, as well as the larger tea cups. These can be customized, simply drop me an email: shannon@shopcamelliacottage.com
I love these florals, and can see them in bookcases, on tables, or even tucked away in kitchen nooks.

Title: What's New
Good afternoon or should I say night?
I've re-arranged the images on my website's main page, as well as the navigation on the side. Our blog sidebar has been re-arranged as well. Camellia Cottage now has a small square banner to link us with. Just the perfect size for blogs. I applied to join the Shoofly Pie web directory. I've also started on our next "Cottage Resource" article. It's going to be for the garden, and about Daylillies.
Tomorrow, I'm going to work on our lollishop.

Title: Update
Ok, I've got so much going on at Camellia Cottage, it's hard to keep it all straight. ha ha! Here's a quick update of what's happened and what's on my "to do list"
First we have just got a myspace and lollishop. I changed the twitter background to match our website.
Lollishops...I only have one product listed; but hopefully this Sunday I can go to the Emporium and bring home some items to list online. :)
I have a stack of linens to be ironed and photographed sitting on the ironing board. These will hopefully become my next project.
Nest we need to list some of my florals online. After all they are my specialty. I want to add some florals, wall pockets, and wreaths. Our teacup florals are so cute, I can't wait to share them. :)
Also our blog menu and website main page are getting a bit crowded and need some re arranging.
Lord only knows when I'll find time for all this. Maybe my day will gave a couple of extra hours between now and next week. Sorry, I got a little bit long winded here. Have a good night!

Title: New Merchandise
Camellia Cottage now has anniversary gifts, vintage apparel, and Ann's handmade angels. I'm so excited! I enjoy shopping and choosing new merchandise for our boutique. My favorite item is our new "bubble gum" hat box. I'd love to have a real hat like that. :)

Title: Shipping is fixed
Just thought you would like to know our shipping has been fixed. All our products have been edited so our shipping charges are base on weight. I'll have to change out policy page and update the info.
I've also added some new angels and red hat items to the site. More items are coming soon. Hopefully, I'll get them listed by tomorrow. New items...this is exciting! :)

Title: Shipping Info
Camellia Cottage's shipping policies are in the process of changing. Previously we used a percentage of the cart total. However, now I've bought a postal scale and all shipping will be calculated based on weight. This will allow us to charge a more accurate shipping price. I'm working the bugs out. In the meantime, some linens will be charged too much for shipping until I enter weights for them. If you have any problems please don't hesitate to email me at: shannon@shopcamelliacottage.com and I'll be happy to give you a refund! :)

Title: Topsites
Last night and this morning, Camellia Cottage has joined quite a few topsites. Hopefully, it will help drive traffic to our online shop/webpage.
Also I've finally decided to join Make Mine Pink. I can't wait! It'll be the most exciting thing to happen to this boutique in a while.

Title: Dishes!
Isn't today a beautiful day? I went antiquing this morning and found some wonderful new items. I think it was so much fun. No sooner had I made my rounds and looked into all the booths, than it began to pour down rain.
I've been washing up some dishes. They are beautiful, and I gave some to my grandmother. The rest I'll send to the Emporium or list on the online shop. I also bought a basket of linens; but I can't wash them until it stops raining. They always smell so much nicer, when one hangs them on the line in the sweet sunshine.
Well, have a great weekend and I'll write some more after I get the items added to my site. :)

Title: Napkins & Embroideries
Hope everyone is enjoying the Easter Holidays! Its such a wonderful time of year.
Tonight I've added some new linens. Yay! There are some embroideries as well as some napkins. They have all been washed and ironed. I love those floral embroidered linens! They are so "cottage-ish", I wish I could keep them in my room. With all the family linens I already have, I'd run out of tables on which to display them. Ha ha!
Next update, I hope to add some antique white linens, table runners, and some vintage baby clothes.

Title: Cooking with Camellia Cottage
The last of March, I added a bunch of new recipes. Tonight I was scrolling down through the site, only to notice that most of them weren't showing up on the site. So I discovered you have to activate them before they appear. Oooppss! Now don't I feel silly?
Added a site credit page as well.
We are still adding new linens, and I might change our product categories a bit in the future; but I can't decide. This whole business website is so new to me, and I feel like I'm just learning and it gets frustrating. If you have any ideas on how we can improve our site, I'm open to all ideas and/or suggestions!

Title: Doilies
As promised I've added about 15 new antique doilies to our online linen basket. They come in many different colors and sizes. They will be perfect for any home! Sit a potted plant or candy dish on top. Or try draping them off the edge of a bookcase. No cottage would be complete without a few antique doilies.
I've got other linens washed, ironed, and tagged. Yay! All that's left is to photograph and upload to our shop. :)

Title: Cottage Rescources
Alright I've added another page to the site. I haven't had much time to work on it, as warm weather is here again, and I can't resist gardening. Who would sit at the computer all day, when one could be digging in the dirt and watching a garden grow?
Anyway, to stay on subject. Our new page is called Cottage Resources. It's designed to contain free articles with photos and old fashioned tips for the modern cottage. I wish I had more than just one recipe; but my archive will come in time. I feel the need to get more products online, before working too hard on this page. I can't wait to start on it!

We now have a blog, and I'm not really sure what to write.

Soon our Easter order should arrive! Maybe next week sometime, I hope. I can't wait to see all the colorful little eggs. Also coming soon, Camellia Cottage will have antique linens. These include lace dollies, embroideries, napkins, etc. I would have had them up sooner, but it's been snowing and cold. I feel like I have to wash them first and it's too cold to hang them on the clothesline. Some of them I don't dare put in the dryer! We've got two boxes of linens, so check back around the end of the month.
